Be the change you want to see in the world.

The late Bill Hicks once said that the world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when we choose to go on it we think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. But what happens when it is not fun anymore? We need to change it. It's just a ride and we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one, because we really are one. The system we live in separated us in groups that just divide people and increase hate and discrimination. Race, religion, nations, social status etc. It is all made to separate us from one another. We are coming to a point in worlds history where we have only two choices left - we are either going to kill each other and disappear from this planet, or people will realize that the real power of human race lies in unity of us all. The people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure, a beautiful ride. So why not us use that power? We all need to unite and fight for a new world, a decent world that will give every men on this planet a chance to work, that will give the youth of the world a brighter future and old people security. Hicks had a vision how to change the world, right now, to a better ride. We should take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace...
I have read that the money needed to end the hunger around the world is estimated at around $30 billion. It is a big number isn't it? Well those $30 billion are being spent on military purposes around the world every EIGHT DAYS! Yes, 8 days... So if we all stopped worrying about wars for just over a week, there would be no starving kids around the world. Is it really that hard? Or is greed of people stronger than love? I am coming from a country that was torn apart by stupid wars for stupid reasons, and I never understood why it all happened. People are getting killed all around the world because they are from a different country, or they have a different religion or a different skin color. Instead of killing each other, we should unite and work together to create a better world were we can all live in harmony. In a world where 1 % of the population owns 40% of the planet's wealth... In a world where 34,000 children die every single day from poverty and preventable diseases, and where 50% of the world's population lives on less than 2 dollars a day... One thing is clear - something is very wrong. We need a revolution. Not a violent revolution, but a love revolution. The real revolution is the revolution of consciousness and each one of us first needs to eliminate the divisionary, materialistic and greedy goals that are put upon us by this corrupted system; while discovering that we are all one and that it is our real goal to help one another. It is up to you people... Be the change you want to see in the world.
